Our youth program participants from the Ruby Tucker Family Center, Leonard “Chick” Armstrong Recreation Center, and Mount Vernon Recreation Center, performed at the Night of the Stars arts showcase on April 8, 2022. This annual event is organized by the City of Alexandria Parks, Recreation and Cultural Activities Department, as was held at the Richard Kaufman Auditorium. There were over 400 individuals in attendance and well over 100 youth performers. We accounted for 22 of those youth and they were involved in two dramatic skits, and one dance. The skits were directed by Jason Ellis and the dance was choreographed by Stephanie Metzger. Special thanks to our community partner, Gaynelle Diaz with the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority, for assisting with transportation.
