Momentum Collective Inc. presents Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. It’s the company’s 4th children’s theater production done in partnership with the City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities. The production is once again helmed by the artistic duo of Jason Ellis and Rosslyn Burrs, bringing this timeless and inspiring story to life through song and dance.
Opening on May 8, 2025, the family friendly performances feature a robust cast of 38 elementary and middle school age youth in standout numbers such as “Go Go Go Joseph”, “Any Dream Will Do”, Close Every Door”, Benjamin Calypso”, and “Song of the King”. Synopsis:
“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” is a musical with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It tells the Biblical story of Joseph, his eleven brothers, and the “coat of many colors.” Joseph is his father Jacob’s favorite son, which makes his brothers envious. They sell him into slavery, but Joseph rises to power in Egypt due to his ability to interpret dreams. It’s a story of redemption, forgiveness, and the power of dreams.
