#WOKE Cast Bios

Simon Sinnreich (Coltrane)- is thrilled to be joining Momentum Collective In #WOKE. He feels a special connection to the piece as a person of black and Jewish heritage and hopes everybody can take something meaningful from it. He has previously been seen as Billy Flynn, Charlemagne, and others at The Free Theatre. He can be seen on House Hunters and the feature-length documentary, “Mixed.” Instagram: @simon_a_sinnreich”

Chelsea Majors (Tammy)– is thrilled to reprise her role as Tammy in #WOKE after initially participating in the original staged reading of the production.  She is an actor and music director from Northern Virginia, and is thrilled to be joining Momentum Collective on another production! Over the last twelve years, she has had the pleasure of working with a variety of actors from age five to adults. Some of her favorite past productions include In the Heights, Little Women, West Side Story, Rock of Ages, U-Street the Musical, Beauty and the Beast, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown! and Rocky Horror. Chelsea is extremely grateful for the love and support of her wonderful husband, Matt, and of her family. 

Justin Latus (Rinaldi) –  is delighted to be part of another show written by director Jason Ellis!  His last shows were “Last Call” and “Senior Moments”, also with Momentum Collective Inc., where he played an ornery father, Charles, and in Karl Hannah he won the heart of one of the leading ladies with his “Slow Dance”, respectively.  Before that he was a sailor in St. Mark’s Players South Pacific. In the summer of 2019, he played a somewhat tone-deaf college administrator in a reading of #Woke as part of the D.C. Black Theatre Festival. Audiences may also remember sitting uncomfortably through his long-in-the-tooth portrayals of Motel the Tailor in St. Mark’s Players’ Fiddler on the Roof and Arpad the Delivery Boy in Dominion Stage’s She Loves Me.

Brianna Goode (Asher)- is no stranger to performing on stage, having worked with numerous local theater companies including Dominion Stage, Silver Spring Stage, Port City Playhouse, and Little Theater of Alexandria. Her most recent roles include Rita, in Prelude to a Kiss, and Ray in Fiveplay. Not to be messed with, she is a certified fight instructor. This is her first time performing with Momentum Collective and would like to thank her family and friends for their unending support.

Virginia Raye (Raphaella)– is a native of Staten Island, New York, where her passion for the performing arts began. She trained as a dancer and choreographer in Ballet, Modern, Tap and Jazz, and later expanded into Hip Hop, African, and Stepping.  She also began her desire for acting in church and school plays. Following graduation from Virginia State University, Ms. Raye joined Step Afrika!, a Washington, DC-based dance company as a swing cast member. In 2000, Ms. Raye became a member of Alfred Street Baptist Church (ASBC) and discovered a new love for singing. Between her vocal talent and trained stage presence, she has sung for nationally televised programs such as The Kennedy Center Honors (CBS Network), Christmas in Washington (TNT Network) with Grammy-award winning artists, and performed at major events in Washington, DC such as former President Barak Obama’s Inauguration Concert. Ms. Raye’s latest singing endeavor was performing background vocals for Ms. Diana Ross during her 3-night concert at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.  Since 2010, Ms. Raye has shared her talents with Momentum Collective, Inc. as an ensemble dancer, background vocalist, supporting actor, and assistant choreographer in productions such as The Berg Diaries, Senior Moments, and U-Street: The Musical. Ms. Raye has served as the director of the ASBC Liturgical Dance Ministry and continues to be active in the church’s Worship Arts ministries as a singer, dancer, choreographer, and actor. Working with Washington Performing Arts, Ms. Raye currently serves as the choreographer for the Children of the Gospel choir.  Her latest endeavor as an aspiring voice-over artist is yet another testament to  her endless passion for the performing arts. Always excited for the next opportunity she continues to stay active in the church and community, studying and sharing her knowledge with youth and adults. Ms. Raye is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and resides in Alexandria, Virginia.

Mack Leamon (McClane)- recent theater credits include:  Playing Juliet/Casting Othello (Providence Players); Radio Golf (Peace Mountain Theater); Fences (Little Theatre of Alexandria); Detriot ’67 (Strand Theater); Heard it through the Grapevine – Motown Moments Tribute (The Finest Performance Foundation); Two Trains Runnin’ (Spotlighters Theatre); Coming Home, Stick Fly and Blues for an Alabama Sky (Port City Playhouse); A Raisin in the Sun (Castaways Repertory Theater); The Big A: Scenes from a Vanishing Landscape (Macomb Theater Company/DC Fringe Festival); and Before it Hits Home (L.U. Theater).

Tiffany Gabrielle (Aya)is delighted to be making her debut with Momentum Collective. Tiffany first took to the stage at the age of six. Her recent credits include Playing Juliet, Casting Othello with the Providence Players and A Night of One Acts with The Arlington Players. She has a degree in Psychology from George Mason University and has also trained with The Theatre Lab in Washington, D.C. When Tiffany is not on stage, she spends her time wishing a “good morning [to] Baltimore” and teaching others how to perfect the art of the “bend and snap”. She thanks you for your support and hopes that you enjoy the show!

Andrea Trent (Mrs. Dawson)– is excited to be working with the talented cast and crew of #Woke. Andrea has previously performed with 2nd Star Productions in the ensemble in Ragtime and A Christmas Carol; with St. Mark’s Players in the ensemble of Sister Act and as Mazeppa in Gypsy; and with NASA Goddard Music and Drama club as the Narrator/Ensemble in Beauty and the Beast.

Matt Majors (Talking Head) is excited to kind of make his debut on stage in this production of #WOKE! His most recent musical theater experience was playing electric bass and cello in the pit for a production of Matilda the Musical. He would like to sincerely thank Jason for the opportunity, and thank you to Chelsea for the love and encouragement!
